At the time of this page posting, I have been married for over 11 years to my wonderful husband. We have been through a lot in that span of time. I can truly say that nothing has challenged me more as a Christian than marriage and parenting, for both call me to truly carry out the calling for selfless living in the face of my selfish nature.
I know that marriage can be a difficult road for most, and a very hard and selfless road for many. When we bring into play the servant heart of Christ, it can be even more difficult, especially if immature and selfish individuals appear to take advantage of a gentle, quiet spirit. But, I encourage you, in the hope and love of Christ, to persevere in your own spiritual journey, regardless of what character is lacking in those around you. We walk with Yahweh above all else, even if we sometimes might be seeming to walk alone.
There is so much blessing that can come out of obedience to God, but few of us will experience it without taking account of ourselves first and above all else. We cannot justify misbehavior simply because of the misbehavior of another. Enjoy the happy blessings of obedience, regardless of circumstances! Your life will be forever changed as you grow in love with God.
Be patient, be diligent, and persevere in the Spirit! Shalom!
